Announcement graphics for the University of Fine Arts, Hamburg

It was a privilege to design the official poster for the Art School Alliance (ASA) open studios in Hamburg, in collaboration with Chimo Saido.
The ASA program is an initiative of the University of Fine Arts, Hamburg (HFBK), to foster international collaboration among artists, of which I was a recipient.
Chimo and I worked on this project for many weeks, exploring various concepts both individually and collectively. At the end, we designed a vibrant, multi-ethnic, and diverse poster & announcement graphic for the open studios. Seeing the design in print felt pristine.
The Challenge
To design a multi-ethnic, diverse, and intercontinental poster & announcement graphic for the HFBK. It needed to be distinct in its communication and aesthetics, and it needed to marry elements from our distinct design styles.
The Solution
A design that acted as a frame for the countries represented at the ASA program. The phrase ‘ASA Open Studios’ was rewritten in a selection of non-Latin scripts to reflect cultural diversity.
The intertwining, morphing trees woven through stylized typography were symbolic of the ASA residence and how it fosters collaboration, growth, and cultural awareness.
